Matt graduated from Missouri State University in December 2001 with a Bachelor of Accounting and a minor in computer information systems. He has been with Elliott, Robinson & Company, LLP since 2002 upon graduation. Matt assists our clients with the preparation of corporate and individual income tax returns and financial statements. His specialty is audits of retirement plans and for-profit companies. He oversees retirement plan audits and helps clients with compliance in their plans.

PROVEN RESULTS

  • Assist clients with retirement plan issues to bring their plans into compliance by navigating them through the government’s voluntary correction program and avoidance of significant penalties
  • Assisted a client to accomplish filing 3 years of late tax returns and refunds received then kept the client current with their taxes
  • Provided a long-term firm client with tax advice and filing of returns after the Joplin tornado and loss of nearly $10M worth of property
  • Organize sale of at least $1M in state tax credits annually since 2009 to current clients
  • Contributing writer for client articles on year-end tax considerations, SIMPLE contributions, and an article specific to clients with SIMPLE plans to timely play contributions to avoid penalties
